Understory Trees & Flowering Trees

Understory tree is a term used to name trees which “grow under” taller trees. Generally, the mature height of an understory tree will be between ten and twenty feet. Some understory trees are considered to be shrubs in certain landscape contexts. Some trees are “columnar”, which means that they grow taller and narrower than other trees.

Let Cook’s Trees help you choose the color and shape of trees to complement your buildings and landscape. For example, Cook’s grow some newer varieties of Crape Myrtle which are resistant to powdery mildew, so you get more flowers and easier plant maintenance. Beautiful hollies and redbuds provide flower and foliage, and silhouette interest during different seasons. Cook’s can help you choose.

Please call Cook’s Tree Farm at 407-788-8828 with any questions, current prices, or to make an appointment for a visit to the nursery.
