Enjoy flowers and fruit in your yard. Durantas have graceful training branches and year-long bloom. Avocados provide healthy fruit and a majestic tree with beautiful dark green leaves. Azalea provide a spectacular floral explosion each spring. Nectarines, peaches, and citrus fruits can be picked “tree-ripened” and so fresh just outside your door.
If you have a planting location in mind, consult with the staff at Cook's Trees to determine what the best variety to plant. Match your tree to your soil type. An important consideration when choosing where to plant a fruit tree is soil drainage. Fruit trees will not thrive in soil that drains too slowly. You can test for drainage by digging a hole about l foot (30cm) deep and filling it with water. The hole should drain within 3 hours.
See Cook’s extensive tree selection below. “Gallon” refers to the size of the container in which the tree is growing. Container-grown plants are easier to transplant because you get all the roots in the container with the plant.
